BARCELONA PLOTTING NEW CONTRACT FOR NEW INIESTA

As far as almost any Barcelona fan is concerned, when the name Pedro Gonzalez is mentioned, the other player that immediately comes to mind is the club’s legend Andreas Iniesta. Young midfielder Pedro has attracted a lot of comparisons with the club’s former legendary midfielder due to his abilities and football knowledge he shows on the pitch.

Since he was handed his debut by manager Ronald Koeman, he has been a gem indeed. He has taken up his rope admirably and has performed even more than expectations on most occasions. His brilliance on the pitch and technical abilities have been admired by the Barcelona board and they are very much interested in the idea of handing him a fresh contract that would keep him at the club for a longer period and also ward off interest from interested sides.

He joined Barcelona from Las Palmas and even though before making his debut a lot of fans were wondering if he could be the type of player they’re looking for, he has proven to be just exactly the type of player the club needs.

He is young, is versatile, has commendable passing skills, has quick feet, and has a remarkable vision for passes. His current contract is set to run out in the summer of 2022 but Barcelona can’t wait for too long before deciding to have him put pen to paper on a new contract.

Some reports have earlier stated that clubs from across Europe are monitoring the young midfielder’s situation at the Camp Nou and are ready to make a move for him should he be made available for a transfer. But with Barca now moving to have him sign a new deal quickly those could just be rumors in the end.

At 18, being compared to a football legend like Iniesta is great praise and Barca fans expect him to continue playing the kind of football he is doing currently.
