xavi + iniesta = best center mid combo is football history

  • By antoine0981, March 10, 2011 @ 2:23 am

@thewebmastah better than fc barca? no chance, first of all, villa’s in barca now, second spain have no player who can consistently break down a defense with his dribble as in messi, Messi+Villa > Villa+torres, cesc fabregas is more effective than xabi alonso and we all know cesc is going to barca sooner or later

for me, eric abidal is better than capdevila, and sergio ramos = dani alves as an aggressive right back, i can only give that iker is better than valdes, the rest is barca

@tqlax21 Messi’s an amazing complement for Xavi and Iniesta, but I’m afraid the reason why Spain scored so few goals is due to this reasons: 1) Spain were unlucky in this aspect (could have scored many more goals), 2) Torres was completely out of form and 3) all the teams waited with 9/10 men behind the ball. This said, I feel like Spain is an improved version of Barcelona, even though we do not have Messi. Spain can play much better than showed in the WC. Too many players out of form.

@thewebmastah it’s true though, but also spain, where are the intelligent runs, clever one twos? spain scored so few goals, despite all their possession, spain are not the same as barcelona

messi always gets exactly where iniesta and xavi need him to be to be dangerous, they play off each other so well

I really love to see Iniesta playing. He always surprises me. However, I think Xavi deserves the Golden Boot much more than Iniesta or even Messi. He already deserved it last year, but Messi was amazing too and, in the end, the one who scores receives greater credit. This is the saddest law in football, but there it is. No matter if you make the hardest which allows your mates reach their highest, if you don’t score, you’ll always be in the second line. IMO, Xavi is the player of the decade.

@tqlax21 Messi is an amazing player, the best in the world in his position, that’s for sure. However, there is much more in football than goals and assists. Game control and game pace, organization, ball stealing, ball flow helping, speed change, etc, etc. And many other concepts that I don’t even know how to explain in english. Messi scores and assists (that’s his role) amazingly. However, the rest is mainly done by Xavi alone. Where is Xavi in Argentina? Messi’s also looking 4 him.

    1:15 WOW!

  • By pfr661HP, March 10, 2011 @ 9:46 am

@thewebmastah I agree with you. Another madridista

  • By pfr661HP, March 10, 2011 @ 10:13 am

@heldenbaumi WHAT? I agree with you: Schweini is better defending, BUT, Iniesta is better by far attacking. Schweini is stronger, and that enables him to be a great midfield, but Iniesta is one of the most inteligent players I have ever seen, and he is, nowadays, the most quality player in the world. Ah, I almost forget, I didn’t watched in the vid two amazing goals of Iniesta: the one to Belgium and the one to Chelsea

    pass it on

  • By tqlax21, March 10, 2011 @ 12:38 pm

@thewebmastah messi has only been a goal scorer the past two years, he’s primarily a creative player, and he’s ever bit as involved in the build up for barca as xavi and iniesta, for a player who gets credited for 15+ assists to go with his 40+ goals, messi never gets enough credit for his incredible passing
